When We Are Closed

Our telephones are switched to night service between 18:30 and 08:30 and during this time any attempt to contact will result in a message giving you the options available to you.

Emergency Out of Hours Service Dial 111

If you require medical advice or need to see a doctor urgently when the surgery is closed, please dial 111 to access the new "out of hours service". The 111 number is free to call from landlines and mobile 'phones.

When you contact this service you will speak with a doctor who may:

  • Give you advice over the telephone;
  • Refer you to Sheepcot Medical Centre to be seen by a doctor the following day;
  • Or, if you are unable to travel due to the severity of your illness, a doctor may visit you at home.

Your local pharmacist will be able to give you free health advice, with no need for an appointment.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
